Historical music is one of the central projects of Farya Faraji and his colleagues.
Historically informed performances that approximate the sound of past centuries are often produced by Farya Faraji, based on research, analysis of historical documentation, and cross-comparative ethnomusicological studies, ranging from historically informed approximations of Greco-Roman music, to Medieval pieces and early modern ones.
Likewise, he frequently produces video-essays about a variety of subjects regarding historical music, aiming to make the education of past music more accessible to large audiences, all accompanied with bibliography and academic sources for further reading.
His colleagues and interviewees include a wide-ranging list of academics and specialists such as Lina Palera, Armand d’Angour, Stefanos Krasopoulis, Luke Ranieri, Stefan Hagel, Bruno de Labriolle, Ernst Stolz, Anna Vasylchenko, Max Kerner, John Michael Boyer, the Seikilos Thessaloniki Museum, and many others.
